All produce pricing trends are based on USDA data as of December 1, 2020.

VEGETABLES

POTATOES

Russets  arrow up

The russet market is mixed this week. 70 count and 90 count Burbanks are steady, while 70 count Norkotahs are up and 90 count Norkotahs are down. 6 oz. minimum size Burbanks are down while 6 oz. minimum size Norkotahs are steady. There is moderate supply and demand reported out of Idaho. 70 count Norkotahs out of Washington/Oregon are down, while 90 count Norkotahs are steady with moderate supply and demand reported. Quality is fair out of both growing regions.

Reds  arrow steady

Product out of Minnesota and Wisconsin is steady with moderate supply and light demand reported.

Yellows  arrow steady

The yellow potato market is steady this week, including product out of Wisconsin, with moderate supply and light demand reported.

CABBAGE

Round Green  arrow down

The cabbage market is down this week with light demand and moderate supplies.

LEAF LETTUCE

Green Leaf  arrow down

The green leaf market is down this week. Supplies and quality are improving. Demand is fair.

Romaine  arrow down

The romaine market is down this week. Supplies and quality are improving. Suppliers still expect lighter weights.

ICEBERG LETTUCE  arrow down

The iceberg market is down this week with improving supplies and quality. Suppliers still expect lighter weights.

GARLIC  arrow steady

No issues to report on domestic peeled garlic. Supply and quality are reported as good.

ONIONS  arrow steady

The jumbo yellow onion market is steady this week. Product out of Idaho and Washington/Oregon is steady with moderate supply, moderate demand, and fair quality reported.

MUSHROOMS  arrow steady

Brown mushrooms are seeing better supplies this week from the East Coast. Analysts estimate that brown mushrooms will be a bit tighter than white mushrooms, but overall supplies are good. Quality issues continue to be a problem for product coming from the West Coast.

CILANTRO  arrow up

The cilantro market is up this week. Product out of Oxnard, California is up on 30's and on 60's, with moderate supply and demand and a wide range in quality reported. Product out of Mexico is up on 60's, with light supply and demand reported.

CUCUMBERS  arrow down

Cucumbers are down this week. Western cucumbers out of Nogales and McAllen are down with moderate supply and light demand reported. There is a wide range in quality out of the West. Product out of Central and South Florida is down with light supply and demand reported.


CELERY  arrow down

The celery market is down this week with good supplies and lighter demand.

Yellow Squash & ZUCCHINI arrow down

Squash and zucchini are down this week. Squash out of Florida is down with light supply and demand reported. Squash out of Mexico crossing through Nogales is down with moderate supply, light demand, and a wide range in quality reported. Zucchini out of Florida is down with moderate supply and light demand reported. Zucchini out of Mexico crossing through Nogales is down with heavy supply, light demand, and a wide range in quality reported.


GREEN BEANS  arrow down

The green bean market is down this week, but domestic green bean markets continue to be high with limited supplies. Machine-picked product out of Florida is down with light supply and good demand reported. Product out of California is down with moderate supply and light demand reported.


BELL PEPPERS

Green  arrow down

Green bell peppers are down this week. Product out of Central and South Florida is down with light supply and demand reported. There are still some lingering quality issues due to the weather, but quality is improving. Product out of Mexico crossing through Nogales is down with moderate supply and demand reported.

Red  arrow steady

Product out of California is steady this week with light supply and demand reported.


TOMATOES 

Rounds  arrow down

Red Rounds are down this week. Product out of Florida is down with moderate supply and demand reported. Western Rounds out of Baja are down with moderate supply and demand reported, while product out of McAllen is down with light supply and moderate demand reported. There is a wide range in quality out of the West.

Romas  arrow up

Roma tomatoes are mixed this week. Product out of Florida is down with moderate supply and light demand reported. Western product out of Baja is down with heavy supply and light demand reported, while product out of McAllen is up with moderate supply and good demand reported. There is a wide range in quality out of the West.

Grape & Cherry arrow steady

Grape tomatoes are mixed this week. Product out of Florida is up with moderate supply and light demand reported. Western Grapes out of Baja are down with moderate supply and light demand reported, while product out of McAllen is steady with light supply, light demand, and a wide range in quality reported. Cherry tomatoes out of Florida are down with light supply, light demand, and fair quality reported.


CARROTS  arrow steady

The jumbo carrot market is steady to down this week. Product out of Kern, California is steady with moderate supply and good demand reported. Product out of Mexico is down with moderate supply, light demand, and a wide range in quality reported.

GREEN ONIONS  arrow down

The green onion market is mixed this week. Large 48’s and medium 48’s are down, while small 48’s are up out of Mexico with moderate supply and light demand reported. Product out of South Carolina is steady with moderate supply and good demand reported.

CAULIFLOWER  arrow down

The cauliflower market is down this week with moderate supply and demand.

ASPARAGUS  arrow down

The asparagus market is down this week. Product out of Peru is down with good supply and light demand reported. Product out of Mexico is down with moderate supply and light demand reported.

BROCCOLI  arrow down

The broccoli market is down this week. Supplies are improving, as is quality. There are still occasional issues with pin rot and hollow core.


HANGING FRUIT

Apples and Pears

Apples  arrow steady

All varieties are steady out of Washington with moderate supply, moderate demand, and good quality reported.

Pears  arrow steady

The pear market is steady out of Washington with moderate supply, moderate demand, and good quality reported.


CITRUS

LEMONS  arrow steady

The lemon market is flat this week. Analysts expect supplies to remain light as we head into the new year.

LIMES  arrow down

The lime market is down this week. Moderate supplies and demand are reported.

ORANGES  arrow steady

The navel market is flat this week. Supplies of smaller sizes are readily available, while larger sizes continue to be tight. Quality is good.


BERRIES

STRAWBERRIES  arrow steady

Strawberry production out of California is decreasing, and will continue to decrease as we head into the new year, according to analysts. Production in Mexico and Florida is starting to ramp up.

GRAPES  arrow steady

The grape market is steady this week, including Autumn King, Red Seedless, Scarlet Royal, and White Seedless out of Kern and San Joaquin Valley, California. There is moderate supply, good demand, and good quality reported out of both growing regions.


TROPICAL

PINEAPPLES  arrow steady

Volumes on pineapples have improved, with very nice quality reported. Analysts think there should be good quality and supply for the remainder of the year.

BANANAS  arrow steady

The banana market has begun to tighten as a result of the recent hurricane. Volumes are lower and good quality of conventional bananas is reported.

AVOCADOS  arrow steady

Mexican avocados are steady this week on 36’s, 40’s, 48’s, 60’s and 70’s, with moderate supply and light demand reported.

MELONS

CANTALOUPES  arrow up

The cantaloupe market is up this week. Analysts expect adverse weather to affect supplies through the end of the year.

HONEYDEWS  arrow steady

The honeydew market is flat this week. Analysts expect adverse weather to affect supplies through the end of the year.
